They say the alltimelow in distrust in gov't is not caused by one single event. Oh? I thought it was...because the news has been covering it to death...[sarcasm]
The answer is simple: you bash politicians, you're bashing everyone. Politicians are nothing more than United States citizens who run for office and get elected by their fellow Americans. How is this a bad thing? Well, it shouldn't be a bad thing, and it's entirely possibly that it could once again be not a bad thing. But since everybody is making excuses for their bad behavior, there is really nobody to elect. Who wants as "goody two shoes" in office? Who wants someone who refuses to "get off their high horse"? Um...yeah.
