How long does it take for someone you've never met to crash his car against yours?
How long does it take for a stock boy to add a CD to the millions of others on the shelf?
How long does it take for an idea to strike?
How long does it take for the mailman to put your mail in your mailbox?
How long does it take for the President to write his signature on a bill?
How long does it take for a bill to become a law?
It seems like it always takes forever
for anything worthwhile to happen
if you consider how many days from the time you were born
it took for all the good things in your life to happen
But the stock boy never knew, and most likely will never know, the significance of that CD he added to his boss' store's shelf
and the President isn't empathetic enough to know important it is for his signature to be on that bill
until someone speaks up and demands what they want
When your happiness depends on other people
You can either stay quiet and wither your life away
