Starburst Magazine heralded Harry Adam Knight as being "The New Stephen King"...interesting how John Brosnan worked for Starburst Magazine and Harry Adam Knight is a pen name for John Brosnan...the cover for CARNOSAUR (ISBN: 978-1557850836), the 1989 re-print, doesn't say who of the employees of Starburst Magazine wrote that quote, but it wouldn't be surprising if it was indeed John Brosnan himself, trying to raise sales for Harry Adam Knight's books...
I remember watching the movie back in 1998 or so, and being confused as all get out by the ending. I understood it was horrifying, but not understanding it kinda made it more so.
Also, I remember watching the 1986 musical re-make of THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS back around 1991 or so, and almost cowered to bed when the mean green mother from outer space started wreaking havoc on the plant shop, and my mom told me it would be less scary if I stayed and watched to the end. Little did my mom know, if Frank Oz had had the final say, watching to the very end of that movie would have kept me up all freakin' night. For, you see, there is this little thing called a "director's cut", which as, AT LAST(!), been released to DVD (and blu ray). It's probably not fair to call Frank Oz's decision to take a lite-horror/horror-comedy/horror-comedy-musical and tack on an ending that defies all expectations one would have of the movie a precursor to George Lucas' decision to ruin the STAR WARS trilogy, but you can kinda see some parallels there nonetheless...the movie goer should be satisfied. SATISFY ME PLEASE, GEORGE LUCAS!!! (Yes, satisfy us all!)
